Nissan To Deliver European Preview of Sony Playstation 3 - Autos

Video game racing fanatics would certainly mark the Nissan stand as their first stop at this year's Geneva Motor Show. What could draw them a closer and longer is the new video game console from Sony. The Sony Playstation 3, the third console from the company, is equipped with a Gran Turismo HD Concept. The said game is for the enthusiasts to enjoy. It will invade the motor show to entertain fanatics.

The PlayStation 3 (PS 3) is Sony Computer Entertainment's third video game console. It rivals with Nintendo's Wii and Microsoft's Xbox 360. The PS 3 was released on November 11, 2006 in Japan and on November 17, 2006 in the markets in United States, Canada, Mexico, Hong Kong and Taiwan. This year, the game console will be released in Singapore, Middle East, Europe and Australia. The PS 3 is available in two initial configurations - the 20 GB Basic model and the 60 GB Premium model.

The much-awaited video game console will go on sale in Europe on the 23rd of this month. Hence, Nissan's stand at the Geneva Motor Show will be one of the few places to offer PS 3 before it hits the market. There are only three consoles on Nissan's stand thus the automaker is expecting long queues. To preserve public order, Nissan will be increasing security in its stand.

Visitors of the automaker's stand could not only feast their eyes on stunning Nissan body parts and accessories for they could also be hooked by the PS 3 mania. While visiting the Nissan stand, they could also be among the first to see new vehicles from the fast-rising Japanese automaker.

Nissan has been featured prominently in all of the Gran Turismo games. It has allowed on-screen racers of all ages and potentials to vie in dozens of Nissan models on some of the most difficult circuits in both the real and virtual world. When Gran Turismo 4 was launched two years ago across Europe, one of the featured stars was Nissan's vivid yellow 35th Anniversary 350Z.

Nissan's updated 350Z, which will also be displayed at the Geneva Motor Show, features the VQ engine dubbed as the VQ 35 HR. In increases the power of the old version by 313PS at 6800rpm. The torque is now 358Nm at 4800rpm and the maximum engine speed has reached 500rpm higher at 7500rpm. In addition, about 80 percent of the vehicle's major auto parts are new.

"We are delighted that the new PlayStation 3 with Gran Turismo HD will be on our stand at the Geneva Motor Show. Sony's passion for virtual racing matches our passion for making cars that are great to drive, as epitomised by the newly updated 350Z," said Paul Willcox, the Vice President of Strategy and Marketing for Nissan Europe. "It's going to be even busier than normal at Geneva for Nissan this year thanks to the world premiere of a key new model for us," he added.
